  5. It has not been fully established whether drinking this tea poses a health risk during breastfeeding. To avoid any possible negative effects, do not drink this tea if you are breastfeeding your child.
  6. If you are taking diabetes medication or insulin, consult a specialist before drinking this tea regularly, as tulsi lowers blood sugar levels.
  7. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), those who regularly take painkillers such as acetaminophen should not consume tulsi because the combined effects of the two can cause liver damage.

 

Tulsi Tea Recipe 

A cup of hot tulsi tea can provide relief from a cold or sore throat. Here’s how to make this tea:

Ingredients:

  • Water: 3 cups
  • Ginger: half a teaspoon
  • Honey: 5 drops
  • Tulsi leaves: 15
  • Lemon juice: 10 drops
  • Green cardamom powder: 1/4 tsp

How to Make Tulsi Tea: Take 3 cups of water in a teapot. Add chopped tulsi leaves, chopped ginger, and cardamom powder to the water. Boil for 10 minutes. Strain and pour into a teacup. Stir in honey and lemon juice, and serve hot tulsi tea.
